Be In Alignment Not In Control

In business and in life we often want to ‘be in control’, but it is much better to be in alignment and aligned with our purpose.

Being in alignment means that we allow things to come to us that fit and match our purpose and mission. We trust that if we are clear in our vision and in our hearts, the rest will follow.

It is hard to try and control everything. Being in alignment is so much easier!

Align with who you are and with what your business is and offers.

An easy way to practice alignment is to serve others and then the magic happens. When we go forth with the intention to ‘serve others’ alignment happens almost on auto pilot because we are in align with serving our customers and clients.

On Branding

Branding is not something you do once. Branding is an ongoing process in your business and also in regard to who you are. Regardless of the size of your business or if you are personally branding yourself as a public figure or not, you are always branding yourself at the same time that you brand your business.

As part of your marketing and branding strategy, every week you could be writing, creating, posting, and sharing content. From blog posts to tweets, from reports and downloads to email messages, you’re communicating with your audience, potential customers, and current customers. You’re sharing a message. And you are branding!

If that message is consistent, then people start to develop trust and expectations. They learn who you are and what you stand for. If your message is inconsistent, then your audience is left confused and unsure of who you are and where you stand. This confusion generally leads to them leaving your fold, or never entering it in the first place.

If you want to attract customers and keep them, your message has to be consistent from message to message and across your content channels. In short, you have to have a brand and that brand has to be communicated clearly and effectively in every piece of content that you share.

A strong and consistent brand provides you with:

  • A clear message
  • Credibility
  • Clearly, delivers the message 
  • A prospect that is emotionally connected to you, your products, or services.
  • A motivated buyer
  • Loyalty
  • Authenticity
  • Underlying Integrity

One of my favorite pieces to branding is to Inspire and to offer Inspiration. People making buying decision based on how they ‘feel’ or how a product or service might make them ‘feel’. Therefore, in your branding make sure that you are inspiring people! Make them feel good! If you keep that at the heart and soul of your branding you will excel at branding!

And most of all have FUN with it! 🙂

Success Starts with Being YOU!

I was on a FB Live today in an entrepreneur group comprised of 67K entrepreneurs and today I was sharing about blogging and the benefits of blogging.

While I was sharing some screen shots about my own blogs that I manage, it came to light that a big part of building quality relationships and connections involves being personable and bringing YOU into your work.

For example today I shared a picture in a FB group about beach house treasures and I also shared this same picture on a page over on my main blog today. It is of a piece of art that I love and have at my beach house.

I got it at a thrift store a couple of years back.

Here is the picture of the painting:

Pretty paining of the ocean with birds and beach grass and beautiful colors of pink, purple and blue.

This is an example of bringing ‘You’ into your work and sharing a part of who you are with others. People love to connect with each other and to get to know one another.

By sharing this picture I am sharing what I like, my style and what I appreciate. I am also connecting with others who love this type of art, beach life and thrift shopping for example.

I feel that sometimes in business, especially when it comes to online marketing or digital marketing, people get so into branding and building an identity that they sometimes forget to bring the heart of who they are into their work.

Just by sharing a picture that you like, or a picture of you enjoying a book that is of interest to you, or a pic of you and the fam, can really connect who you are to that thread of humanity and realness in others too.

Be sure to share that side of you that is personal and connects you with others through common interests and the common appreciation of life and the things in life that we enJOY.
