2 Hacks To The Credit Card Game

The Game

First and foremost think of using credit cards like a game because it is a game. The credit card company’s ideal customer is one who racks up their credit card with no wiggle room left. And then the credit card company or bank makes a lot of money off of the person who has maxed out their card or who never pays down their balance. Add on whopping interest fees and various surcharges and the game is in full swing!

Now the person becomes the pawn in the game of kings and never seems to be able to make a dent in their outstanding balance. You know that awful feeling of being buried and you can’t get out? 🙂

In the above case you are losing the game so if you want to win the game this is what you need to do.

  1. Enter into the game knowing that it is a game and that you want to win. 🙂 A credit card can be a good servant if used wisely and a bad master when not used wisely. To start playing the game to win you want to research and find the best card with the best perks that are to your liking and will give you the most benefit.
  2. Go into the game knowing that you are only in it for 2 reasons A) You want to master a stellar credit rating to set you up for future borrowing if and when you need it to acquire things like a house or business and B) To take advantage of the perks and to NOT pay any interest but to enJOY the perks and maximize!

So the bottom line is that you must pay your card off in full every month! Do this as a strategy to win. Even if you get a credit card with a small credit limit like $1000 or $500… purposely get one for this reason and put charges on it and pay it off every month. This will help to land you a great credit rating and get you knowing how to play the game to win.

I hope that you found this helpful and I will be writing again in the future with more tips around credit cards and finance.

Have a great day everyone!

Most Engaging Conent

What Content Gets The Most Engaging Traffic?

A picture of me when I was two years old in 1968

Here is a picture of me next to the lake where I grew up in a little tiny town in Northwestern Ontario called Kashabowie.

I posted this picture on Facebook the other day and had well over 100 Likes and Comments.

This morning while scrolling through Facebook I saw a business post in a group asking what type of content gets them the most engagement? People were answering with things like ‘My Facebook Lives’, ‘My cute cat pictures’, etc. And I responded with this: Authentically sharing parts of my life and living…. like recently the picture of me when I was 2

And this is true my friends! I have been a social media person for many years now and I coach on social media and what I have found to be the best content for engagement is the stuff that is the real deal. That is what inspires people.

People want to get to know the real person and the person or people behind the brand.

Yesterday in the blogging class that I am teaching we came up with a term for this. We called it “Human Centered”.

When someone sends me a friend request and they are say a Business Coach or a Brand and I look at their wall or content and all I see is ‘business stuff’ and no personalization, it is rare that I even accept their connection request. I want to engage with people and to be inspired by them and their life as well as maybe doing business with them in the future.

To me this lifetime is about connecting with each other, inspiring each other and serving each other so that has to be a part of engaging content.

And on the note of INSPIRATION, all content should inspire or make someone feel better in some way. Whether it is bringing a smile to their face or offering a solution to their problem, it should make the feel better.

I hope that you are inspired by this blog today and that you see content in a new way.

How Do You Look At Expenses?

I was over on one of my up and coming favorite platform, Alignable, and I love their Advice Section. It is a place where you can ask for or offer advice and today I answered a question about expenses.

The question was: How regularly do you evaluate your expenses? And will you be reviewing them now that it is a New Year and new quarter, etc. And will you be watching your finances?

Here was my answer:

I am a little different. My solution to just about every situation is to “make more money”. So rather than spending a lot of time focusing on where I can cut things out or on what I can change out, I focus on ways to add to my DIS (Diversified Income Streams).

I love to leverage and I leverage my time, my money, and my resources. I do not mind AT ALL paying for tools, education, courses, systems etc. to make my life and work easier. I think that is smart and I invest in myself often. And of course, I will let go of whatever is not working for me or not bringing me JOY in my work and my life.

However, the bulk of my energy goes into being proactive and full speed ahead.

Here is an example.

I love to shop at Winners (The USA Version of TJ Maxx) and they always give me a survey with my receipt with a chance to fill it out to win a prize. I learned quickly that the time it takes me to fill out a survey could be making me money instead so I stopped filling those out.

I see my time as an asset or a liability and that to me is wasting my time and not an asset. Same thing fighting for a $20 or $30 error or charge…. sometimes way too much time and energy and not worth it in the big picture.

When one stops focusing on ‘the lack of money’ in their decisions that is when the big things that are magical can truly happen! 🙂

As to watching my finances,  I am going to watch them GROW because that is what I focus on.. abundance and helping others to add more abundance into their lives! 🙂 And I quite like that 🙂

So There You Have It!

That was my answer and is always the way I see things. I remember reading a post on Facebook one time about a person sharing her frustration about not having any more corners to cut in their household budget and they didn’t know what to do to make it work even after credit counselling and all I could think was “have you looked for ways to add in more income?” Was that even put on the table?

Anyhow, I hope that you too learn to focus on diversifying your income and adding in more resources when you need them. It sure helps to take the pressure off. 🙂 And if you need a way, talk to me. I am full of ideas and I am sure one will work for YOU!

Have a great day everyone!

On Branding

Branding is not something you do once. Branding is an ongoing process in your business and also in regard to who you are. Regardless of the size of your business or if you are personally branding yourself as a public figure or not, you are always branding yourself at the same time that you brand your business.

As part of your marketing and branding strategy, every week you could be writing, creating, posting, and sharing content. From blog posts to tweets, from reports and downloads to email messages, you’re communicating with your audience, potential customers, and current customers. You’re sharing a message. And you are branding!

If that message is consistent, then people start to develop trust and expectations. They learn who you are and what you stand for. If your message is inconsistent, then your audience is left confused and unsure of who you are and where you stand. This confusion generally leads to them leaving your fold, or never entering it in the first place.

If you want to attract customers and keep them, your message has to be consistent from message to message and across your content channels. In short, you have to have a brand and that brand has to be communicated clearly and effectively in every piece of content that you share.

A strong and consistent brand provides you with:

  • A clear message
  • Credibility
  • Clearly, delivers the message
  • A prospect that is emotionally connected to you, your products, or services.
  • A motivated buyer
  • Loyalty
  • Authenticity
  • Underlying Integrity

One of my favorite pieces to branding is to Inspire and to offer Inspiration. People making buying decision based on how they ‘feel’ or how a product or service might make them ‘feel’. Therefore, in your branding make sure that you are inspiring people! Make them feel good! If you keep that at the heart and soul of your branding you will excel at branding!

And most of all have FUN with it! 🙂

I hope that you found this helpful and have an AMAZING day!

Feedback On My Blogging 101 Course

My Blogging Course Feedback

I just finished my second week with a group of students who are taking my Blogging 101 Course where I take them from the idea of “I might want to blog” to becoming a Blogger with Confidence!

I just had to share some of the feedback I got today about the course so far!

This course so far has taken the mystery out of blogging for me. It has already taken me over the hump and has been pivotal. It has been the key for me to becoming confident about starting a blog!

I was afraid of blogging but Maggie has simplified it and makes it possible for anyone to do.

I am a factual and hands on person and I loved how Maggie had us write some sample blog posts and then critiqued them with some suggestions that really opened my mind up to even more possibilities.

I will be starting another Blogging 101 Course soon based on interest and time of day. If you would like to get info about the course let me know.

In the meantime have a GREAT day!

Quote: “Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.” – Alyce Cornyn-Selby

When is the best time to develop an idea? When it is born! Just like a baby, we need to feed it right away for it to survive and thrive!

Procrastination is like taking the food away from the baby and expecting it to survive. 🙂

As a coach who teaches people about the power of our thoughts, I also know that there is also a component that involves action in order to be successful. We think and develop our thoughts around what we want to manifest or to bring about but we also have to take action.

When we procrastinate we stop the flow and the action process.

What is one area of your life or work that you are procrastinating in? Is there one action that you can take right now after reading this to get the momentum ball rolling once again? It doesn’t have to be a big step just a step. Everything in life starts with the first step.

I am going to publish this blog post and then go follow up with a student of mine from my blogging class to see if they have watched a required video or not yet. That will be my step that I take to get my ball rolling. 🙂

Have a great day everyone!

Money Comes Easy

Are you one of those people that believe making money has to come from hard work? If so, you might want to rethink that. Procrastination Steals From You!

Image with Quote: “Incomplete tasks in your head consume the energy of your attention as they gnaw at your conscience.” – Brahma Kumaris

What is the price of procrastination? It can be very steep as this quote eludes to.

For me my mind and my ‘mind space’ is my workshop where I get things done. I don’t want to use up valuable time in my workshop worrying about things I need to do. I want to use my space for creating my next highest vision for my life or business.

I found this quote to be a good reminder to complete those outstanding tasks and just ‘get em done’ so I can make more room for my new goals and visions.

I hope that you found this helpful too!

Have a great day everyone!

10 Reasons Why You Might Want To Start Blogging

I can’t say enough about blogging! Blogging is good for anyone or any business. Blogging can be educational, interesting, resourceful and FUN!

There are many reasons why a person or a business might want to blog.

Here are 10 reasons to consider blogging….

To Build An Audience

Blogging is a perfect way to build a following and attract an audience. And you can attract a large and varied audience or an audience in a specific niche. For example a blog about your life and life’s experiences might attract a lot of different types of people and followers because they become interested in you and your philosophies and experience.

However, a blog that is business or niche specific might only attract those types of people or consumers looking to connect with that brand or purchase that type of product.

Build Relationships

A good blog will let people get to know you and/or your company or business. Relationships are built on trust and integrity and a blog is the perfect way to build this know/like/trust factor quickly.

In 2021 and beyond, building relationships is more important than ever. We are transitioning from an industrial world into more of an information and virtual world and solid relationships that evoke trust are essential.

Create A Warm Market

Blogging allows you to create a warm market with people you have never even met yet and to also foster the relationships that you already have with people or with your current customers.

It is also a great two-way street because you can get to know your audience better by monitoring what they engage with the most when you post and by the comments they leave… a marketer’s dream. 🙂

Create Value

This is a huge piece to blogging. Blogging is one of the BEST ways to create value with your audience and your potential customers or consumers of your information or your products. In a world of information overload this is KEY. There are very few new products or services out there, so the best way to stand out is to be unique in some way and/or to create value.

Blogging allows you to create tremendous value by offering up a platform to educate, inform, and specifically target any niche or audience that you want to reach. This makes you the blogger, the one in control of the information.

Create Opportunities

We are all in this world together and the more we support one another and collaborate, the better for all. Blogging is a great way to initiate and source out further opportunities. Through blogging people or companies might find you and want to collaborate or to do a joint venture project of some sort. The potential for opportunities is vast and infinite and is really quite exciting.

Create Content

Content is King in the internet world today and blogging is a great way to create useful content and content that can be repurposed and reused again and again. For example, I am starting a 4-week blogging course in two days. I will use this blog post in the first class to go over some reasons why it is great to blog and to reinforce their choice to blog through listing the benefits in this very post. I will then send them the link to have for their resources for the course.

I can then take this post and share it over on my other social media platforms and even send it to my email list. I could make a podcast from it and I could also include any form of this blog post in course content for future courses. I could also take quotes from this post and make my own quotes graphics or put some quotes up on Twitter.

I could take the content verbiage and make a video out of it.

This is one of the things that I really love about blogging is that you are never wasting time by blogging because you can use the content over and over and over again. I often send people to my prior blog posts as a resource.

This is especially handy for me when I am asked questions about health. I often send people links to specific posts over on my health and wellness blog at https://maggiesvitamins.blog/ I kind of see this as having a giant online filing cabinets with my documents and resources and they are always accessible and handy.

Tell Your Story

Whether your personal story, or the story of your business or brand, stories are the most effective marketing technique ever. People love stories and they love to know where people have come from. They want to know what inspired you to make changes in your life or what propelled you to start your business. They want to know the human side of it all.

Why? Because we are all human and we relate to others in a human way. Maybe your story is that you were inspired to write a book or to write poems after a life-changing event and your readers have this little spark inside of them and they want to write poetry too! They want to be inspired from YOU! They want to relate to other humans walking the earth. So this is where the stories come in. The stories are the common threads that connect us as humans.

To Inspire

If you want a fast track to marketing at this time in history, it is to inspire people. Selling or marketing through inspiration is the fast track to business growth. People are awakening to their passions and to their desires. DIY projects, cooking, crafting, writing, music, coaching, branding, influencing, education and learning, artistry, personal empowerment, and more, are at all-time high!

Blogging is a sure fire way to offer inspiration and to help people to connect and to fire up their passions and desires. When you or your blog inspires others they connect to you and/or your brand and they trust you for advice and/or potential product recommendations. The key here is to ‘inspire’ people.

Validate Expertise

Imagine you need heart surgery and you go to the cardiologist and ask him what he thinks about your upcoming procedure. And he says something like “Hmm, geez, I am not quite sure… I hope it goes well but we’ll have to wait and see I guess”.

How does that make you feel? You get the point here. A blog is your opportunity to validate your expertise by sharing what you know. And this is often the biggest obstacle that stops people from blogging in the first place. They underestimate the value in what they do know!

We all know stuff!

Why? Because life has taught us stuff! So simple. Did you ever have a baby? Clean a house? Organize a room? Fix a lawn mower? Etc. Etc. Etc. You get the idea. We all know more about something than someone else who has not yet experienced it and less about other things that some people have experienced that we have not yet. Whew! I hope that one made sense. 🙂

The point is that we can help others by sharing what we do know! 🙂 And a reminder that the human aspect and connection is what we all want so this goes back to telling your story and inspiring others too! The story could be how you never imagined that you could fix your own lawn mower but you watched a video and this is what you learned and you are now sharing it with others! So simple. That is a blog post my friends. 🙂

So now that I started writing this, I realize that I could write way more than 10 reasons for starting a blog, but I will save those for another blog post hee hee.

I hope that you found this helpful and if you or anyone you know would like info about my upcoming blog courses, please reach out. I am good at accommodating people when it comes to times and group sizes.

I would love to hear your comments or thoughts about blogging too! And be sure to have an AMAZING day whenever you are reading this.
